4-day course suitable for graduates of a Level 3 counselling course in a person-centred or psychodynamic modality.

This course is the gateway to a Level 4 Diploma in Emotional Therapeutic Counselling (ETC) or can be undertaken as CPD.

ETC is a Rogerian modality which teaches that the counsellor helps the client examine their experience, which may include early childhood, to better understand themselves, their core values and what drives their behaviour.  It seeks to promote the healing of original wounds by working through the core feelings behind them, aiming to bring clients to a sense of emotional, physical and spiritual wholeness and balance.

For students wishing to progress to the Level 4 Diploma in Emotional Therapeutic Counselling, leading to an NCPS recognised qualification as a practising ET Counsellor, the assessment process comprises a 4000-word written assignment and a 30-minute interview (part of the 4-day programme) with an accredited trainer to assess their suitability for the course.

This 4-day course is designed for those who have completed a Level 3 counselling course in a person-centred counselling modality or psychodynamic modality. It offers principle training in Emotional Therapeutic Counselling and can be taken as Continuing Professional Development (CPD) or as a prerequisite for the Level 4 Diploma in ETC.

By meeting the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Societies (NCPS) rigorous standards and meticulous assessment process, our Gateway to Level 4 in ETC Counselling has achieved the necessary standards to be granted quality checked status as a recognised professional qualification.

This course involves a minimum of 6 hours counselling skills practice using the tools and techniques applied by Emotional Therapeutic Counsellors.

All AETC courses are run at the Isbourne Holistic Centre in Cheltenham.
