Supervisors play a key role in improving the standards and professionalism of counsellors. This four-day training in Clinical Supervision is designed to introduce you to best practice and prepare you for delivering professional and competent clinical supervision. It is aimed at experienced counsellors, qualified in any recognised counselling modality, and uses in-class exercises and practical exercises to facilitate the learning process. Our trainers are experienced Emotional Therapeutic Counsellors and supervisors themselves and provide hands-on support to you throughout the course to optimise your professional development.
Entry Requirements
The prerequisites are that students must have qualified with a level 5 Advanced Diploma from AETC (formally FETC) or with a Ofqual equivalent level 4 Diploma in counselling from a person-centred humanistic modality with a minimum of 450 total qualification time (TQT). In addition, they should have at least 2 years post qualification experience with a minimum of 200 hours of supervised practice.

The Supervisor course is aimed at qualified counsellors practicing in a person-centred modality wishing to gain a Clinical Supervision qualification. The course will consist of 4 full days of guided learning plus 10 hours of self-guided reading assignments giving a TQT of 34 hours. The focus of the course will be to help counsellors develop the core skills necessary to become effective Clinical Supervisors. There will be formative and summative assessments and skills practice to translate theory into practical skills. This course has quality checked recognition from the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.

By meeting the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Societies (NCPS) rigorous standards and meticulous assessment process, our Clinical Supervision course has achieved the necessary standards to be granted quality checked status as a recognised professional qualification.
There are 4 training days which cover the following subjects:
. Code of Ethics
. Supervisor/Supervisee contract; format, frequency, legal and ethical aspects.
. Working alliance; nature and boundaries of the relationship.
. Levels of supervision; appropriate level for experienced counsellor and newly qualified counsellor and supporting documentation.
Final assessment 2000-to-2500-word assignment to be submitted within 4 weeks from the final training day.
All AETC courses are run at our offices at the Isbourne Holistic Centre in Cheltenham.
If commuting by car there are several off-site parking options available.

This course is £795 which is paid as a deposit of £395 at least one month prior to the course date and the balance to be paid before weekend 2 of the course.
